Kangana Ranaut and filmmaker Kamal Jain are prepping for the sequel of the 2019 film Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, titled Manikarnika Returns.
While the first part had been received rather well by the audience, the second part has stirred up trouble before its making itself.
Kangana had recently mentioned that the new project is titled Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda. After Kangana’s announcement, author Ashish Kaul, who wrote Didda-Kashmir Ki Yodha Rani had a major problem has he has accused her of ‘blatantly violating rights’.
As per a Spotboye report Ashish Kaul said, “Is it believable by any stretch of imagination that a story and a book is being usurped by a renowned actor-turned-social activist? She has blatantly violated my sole rights; it is illegal and an absolute violation of the IPR and copyright laws of the same country that she swears by. I find it so brazen and hideous and I am still inclined to believe that Kangana has been misguided.“
Kaul also mentioned that the copyright of the biography of Queen Didda belonged to him only. Apparently, Kaul had approached Kangana earlier to write a foreword for the Hindi version of the book. On September 11th last year (2020) he had also sent an email regarding the same. Ashish says that the whole life story of the queen was also added in the same manner and is yet to receive a reply from Kangana or her sister Rangoli on his offer.
