Ameesha Patel Had To Do THIS To Earn Her 1st Rolex Watch? She Talks About Financial Independence!
In a candid conversation with Instant Bollywood, the Gadar 2 actress revealed that despite growing up with wealth, her relationship with money has been deeply rooted in understanding its value and the importance of financial independence.
Ameesha Patel Had To Do THIS To Earn Her 1st Rolex Watch
Ameesha Patel has always lived a life surrounded by luxury. Branded clothes, shoes, and bags weren’t foreign to her from a young age.
She recalls, “I was carrying a Louis Vuitton and Moschino bag as my school backpack.”
When asked about her perspective on money, Ameesha shared insights into the lessons she learned early on. She had to work hard to get branded stuff like Rolex and Cartier.

“Even when I was growing up, I was taught to know the value of money. We had to do something really good. I had to become Head Girl to get my first Rolex watch. After that, then I had to graduate with top honors at Tufts University. Then they asked me, ‘Okay, what would you like?’ And I said, ‘Okay, I want a Cartier watch.'”
She emphasized that while she had access to wealth, it was never handed to her without merit. “So, we were always taught the value of money and how hard it is to earn it. And that you can never be a spoiled rich brat at any point in your life, and I still value that. I really appreciate that I didn’t grow up to be a spoiled brat. I always had this fire in me; I didn’t want to just be the daughter of a rich guy who marries another rich man, which is the typical path from the society I came from. That would have been the choice laid out for me.”
I Wanted To Be Ameesha Patel On My Own Terms, Whether That Meant Earning 10,000 Or 10 Lakhs
Ameesha revealed that, given her background, she received many marriage proposals from influential families but chose to carve her own path. “I got rich rishtas from all these big families, but I still believe in doing my own thing. I heard a lot of opinions from every corner, but I didn’t want to follow that path. I always knew I wanted to be Ameesha Patel on my own terms, whether that meant earning 10,000 or 10 lakhs.”
Discussing the power of financial independence, she stated, “Money gives you the freedom to make choices, and often you want to say no to things. Having financial stability really gives you that option. And especially for women, I think being a woman means we already start off on shaky ground in this world. It’s a man’s world, and we’re taught to believe that from the moment we’re born.”
Ameesh Patel Says Be An Independent Woman In Every Aspect
Ameesha firmly believes that women should strive for independence, regardless of their background or marital status. “Be an independent woman in every aspect, you know? And this is one thing I tell every girl I meet: what is the biggest takeaway from my life? I’d say be independent, no matter if you’re married to the wealthiest man or come from the biggest family. What you can do for yourself being a woman, nobody can do for you… because that independence will always keep people in check. Never give that up for anyone.”
