After Uri: The Surgical Strike, Vicky Kaushal and Director Aditya Dhar are reuniting for a superhero trilogy ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’.
Vicky’s role in this actioner flick is a modern-day retelling of the mythological Mahabharat character ‘Ashwatthama’.
Ashwatthama was the son of Dronacharya who was given the boon of immortality. He had a gem embedded on his forehead which gave him power over all living beings lower than humans, protecting him from hunger, thirst, and fatigue.
The handsome hunk Vicky reportedly has to weigh more than 100 kgs for this role! He is busy prepping with mixed martial arts, jujutsu and krav maga, horse riding and spear fighting.
Meanwhile, the search for his leading lady has reportedly zeroed in on the Kedarnath actress Sara Ali Khan.
A source revealed to Mumbai Mirror, “Sara’s character has an interesting mythological arc to it. She is expected to sign within a fortnight and will start prepping from early next year.”
Vicky and Sara will make for quite an interesting and fresh pairing, won’t they? Sara is currently busy with Dhanush and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Atrangi Re’. And her film ‘Coolie No. 1’ with Varun Dhawan is all set for a Christmas Premiere this year.
Talking more about The Immortal Ashwatthama, Director Aditya Dhar has reportedly finalised exotic foreign locations as well for the shoot.
“It will be shot over a span of 80-90 days at multiple locations in India and abroad in countries such as Greece, New Zealand, Japan, and Namibia, with plenty of time devoted to post-production as it will have a lot of visual effects for which Aditya has been collaborating with studios in the West,” the source added.
