Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash is once again under NCB radar, after the agency raided her Versova residence.
NCB had found 1.7 grams of charas and 2 bottles of CBD oil from her house. However, Prakash had filed for anticipatory bail in sessions court.
As per Indian Express report, Karishma’s lawyer Ayaz Khan confirmed that her bail application would be heard on Tuesday.
The report further stated that Prakash was seeking protection from arrest. She argued that the possession of such a small quantity of charas can, at the most, attract 1 year in prison.
Hence, citing a Supreme Court ruling according to which custodial interrogation is not necessary in offences attracting less than seven years imprisonment, Prakash has stated that her personal liberty should not be taken away.
Talking about the CBD oil, Karishma contended that it was not covered by the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Moreover, from the two bottles found in her residence, one was empty and the other one was used, sources said.
As per the latest report by ANI, an NCB official revealed that the celebrity manager Karishma Prakash has not responded to the summons, and is untraceable!
Karishma, who is an employee of the KWAN talent management agency, was earlier questioned by the agency in late September, along with Deepika Padukone.
Now, as per ANI report, NCB has also summoned other employees of KWAN as well.
