A few weeks ago, Deepika Padukone and her manager Karishma Prakash were questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau, after their 2017 drugs chat had gone viral.
As per Indian Express, on Tuesday, the agency had raided Karishma’s Versova residence and has now again summoned Deepika’s manager for questioning.
During their raid, NCB had found 1.7 grams of charas and at least two bottles of cannabis (CBD) oil.
The official said at the time of the raid, the manager was not at home and the search was carried out in the presence of her acquaintances.
“We have called her for questioning tomorrow to NCB, however, her phone has been switched off and we do not know where she is,” an official said.
Midday reports that Karishma Prakash’s name had cropped up during the interrogation of alleged drug peddlers arrested in the investigation in the FIR number 16/20. The agency has only recorded the statements of Deepika and Karishma in the FIR number 15/20 linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
The NCB said they found that Karishma was in regular touch with the drug peddlers.
Indian Express report quoted an official saying that while Prakash has violated sections of the NDPS Act, she will be given a chance to defend herself before a decision is taken to add her name in the FIR.
So far, there is nothing linking Deepika Padukone to the case.
