After Sushant Singh Rajput’s father filed an FIR in Patna against Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her family, things have taken a dramatic turn in the case.
However, Rhea Chakraborty has alleged that she has been ‘falsely implicated’ in the case by K.K Singh.
The actress who moved the Apex Court on Wednesday, seeking transfer of investigation of the FIR from Patna to Mumbai, stated in the petition that she had received death and rape threats, and she is in deep trauma due to Sushant’s loss which has multiplied further due to the media sensitivity of the case.
As per Zee News report, in her petition to Supreme Court, Rhea claimed that she was in a “live-in relationship” with Sushant, who was suffering from ‘depression’ from some time and was also on ‘anti-depressants’.
“In peculiar facts and circumstances of the present case, the petitioner has been falsely implicated in the present case filed at the instance of Krishna Kishore Singh,” Rhea said in her plea.
“He committed suicide on the morning of June 14 at his Bandra residence by hanging himself. The petitioner was summoned and she had visited the Bandra police station on various occasions and her statement was recorded under Section 175 of CrPC. The petitioner has filed a complaint at Santa Cruz police station in Mumbai against the death and rape threats.”
She also said that – “Section 177 of CrPC mandates that every offence shall be inquired into and shall be tried by the magistrate within whose local jurisdiction it was committed.“
Rhea said that even if there is an iota of truth in the case registered by Rajput’s father, the jurisdiction to probe the offence would still lie with the Bandra Police Station.
“In Bihar, there cannot be an impartial investigation and thereby she seeks transfer of probe in the FIR registered in Bihar to Mumbai,” said the petition.
Sushant’s family and the Bihar Government as well have filed a caveat in Supreme Court in response – challenging Rhea’s petition.
Earlier, before the FIR was lodged against her, Rhea had requested CBI Inquiry in Sushant’s case.
