Yesterday, Rhea Chakraborty had filed a petition in Supreme Court, seeking transfer of investigation of the FIR lodged in Patna to Mumbai.
Rhea’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde had stated that an investigation of the same incident could not be conducted by two teams; and that Rhea was willing to co-operate with the ongoing Mumbai Police investigation.
To counter Rhea’s Apex Court move, Sushant Singh Rajput’s family has now filed a caveat in Supreme Court. They sought that Rhea’s petition not be allowed to be heard “ex-parte” in their counter-petition. The family’s lawyer Vikas Singh will be present in the court for proceedings.
Talking to PTI, their lawyer Vikas Singh alleged that somebody from Mumbai Police is helping Rhea; questioning her request for transfer of investigation.
“If she (Rhea) has moved the apex court, she should have filed a petition seeking CBI investigation. FIR is registered in Patna, now she (Rhea) has filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking stay and transfer of investigation to Mumbai. Isse jyada kya proof chahiye ki (what more proof is needed that) somebody in Mumbai Police is helping her.”
As per Republic World report, while talking during The Debate with Editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami, Vikas Singh said Rhea is apprehensive of Bihar Police’s investigation and alleged that it was a ‘fixed match’ with Mumbai Police.
“Rhea going to the Supreme Court puts the cat out of the bag. Till the matter was being investigated by the Mumbai Police, she was saying I have no faith in Mumbai Police and let it be examined by the CBI. Mumbai Police had not filed an FIR (against Rhea) so there was no investigation. Now when the first and only FIR is registered in Patna, and Mumbai Police hereafter has no jurisdiction to go into this matter. Now Rhea wants the matter to go back to the Mumbai Police, so that means till the matter was with them, it was a fixed match. The plot was that I (Rhea) will keep asking CBI and you (Mumbai Police) keep investigating, keep saying CBI is not required and Police will not question you or make you accused and police will do a hush-up by calling all the sundry from the Bollywood.”
Earlier, Rhea Chakraborty had requested CBI inquiry into Sushant’s case, a month after his demise.
The FIR lodged in Patna against her and her family with charges of abetment to suicide, embezzlement, cheating and conspiracy is under IPC Sections 340, 342, 380, 406, 420, 306.
Sushant’s father K.K Singh has levelled serious accusations against Rhea – distancing Sushant from the family, overdosing him with medicines, threatening to leak his medical records to media, stealing his money and valuables, and embezzling 15 crores from his account!
A four-member team of Bihar Police has also reached Mumbai and started conducting a separate investigation, independent of the Mumbai Police.
