Popular Comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau over alleged possession and use of marijuana.
On Saturday, the agency had raided her house and recovered 86.5 gms of ganja.
As per an NDTV report, on Sunday, the couple was produced before the magistrate’s court, which had remanded them to a 14-day judicial custody till December 4.
However, today a special court in Mumbai heard their bail plea and granted them bail after they submitted a bond of Rs 15,000 each.
“Both of them have been granted bail by special (Narcotics) court on furnishing a bail bond of ₹ 15,000 each. No reply was filed by the NCB yet. A notice was issued to them on Sunday itself,” their lawyer Ayaz Khan was quoted as saying.
“Both Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa accepted consuming ganja,” the NCB had said in a statement.
As per the law, up to 1,000 gm of ganja is considered a small quantity, for the possession of which one can be jailed for up to six months and/or a fine of Rs 10,000 can be imposed.
