After the blockbuster success of ‘Shershah’, Sidharth Malhotra has been on a high.
On the other hand, Rohit Shetty is gearing for the much-awaited release of his upcoming directorial ‘Sooryavanshi’.
And now, we hear that Sidharth & Rohit are all set to collaborate for the first time in their career. If this Pinkvilla report is to be believed, Sidharth will reportedly headline Rohit’s cop-based thriller series.
As the report suggests, the series is said to be directed by debutant Sushwanth Prakash and will stream on Amazon Prime Video. The yet-to-be-titled series is currently in the pre-production stage and is expected to hit floors next year.
“Sid and Rohit have been discussing a probable collaboration for a while now and things have finally fallen in place with this web show. It will take off next year and will be helmed by debutant Sushwanth Prakash. Though it’s a cop-based series, the tone and treatment are very different from what the audience have seen in the digital world,” a source informed the portal.
While there is no official confirmation yet, we hope this news turns out to be true. Meanwhile, Rohit is not only producing the series but also working closely with the script and the action scenes.
Earlier, it was speculated that along with Sidharth Malhotra, Vicky Kaushal, and Tiger Shroff were also the front runners to play the lead in this series.
On the work front, Sidharth has an interesting line-up of movies like ‘Mission Majnu’ and ‘Thank God’. He is also said to be doing Dharma Productions’ next aerial action thriller.
After ‘Sooryavanshi’, which is releasing in cinemas on November 5, Rohit’s next directorial is ‘Cirkus’, starring Ranveer Singh, Pooja Hegde, and Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead.
