NOT Shahid Kapoor, WHO Was The FIRST CHOICE For ‘Nuit Blanche’ Movie Hindi Remake?

Shahid Kapoor, as we all know, is all set to make his OTT debut with Raj & DK’s upcoming series- ‘Sunny’.

Post that, the ‘Kabir Singh’ actor is said to be collaborating with Ali Abbas Zafar for his upcoming directorial.

As reported earlier, Shahid will supposedly be seen in the Hindi remake of the French thriller film ‘Nuit Blanche’ (Sleepless Nights in English).

The ‘Sultan’ director is said to have got the rights to make the Hindi adaptation of this foreign film.

While fans can’t wait to watch the ‘Jab We Met’ actor in this edge-of-the-seat thriller, we hear that Shahid was NOT the first choice for the role of the male lead. If this Bollywood Hungama report is to be believed, Ali had earlier offered the role to Varun Dhawan.

NOT Shahid, Varun was the first choice

“Ali offered another subject to Varun, this time a thriller – Nuit Blanche. While Varun was excited with the idea, he didn’t have the dates to come on board the project as Ali wanted to kick it off this year itself. He eventually decided to move on and collaborate with Ali in the time going forward,” a source revealed to the portal.

The source added, “Shahid heard Ali out and understood his vision to bring in a unique touch to this thriller, which is a story of a single night. It was an instant yes from Shahid and he is all in the prep mode to commence shooting from next month.”

Bhumi Pednekar

Reportedly, Bhumi Pendekar has been approached to play the female lead. However, there is official no confirmation yet.

The original movie synopsis reads, “A corrupt cop scours the crawlspaces and corridors of a nightclub in search of a stolen bag of cocaine in order to save his son from a vengeful crime boss.”

On the work front, Shahid is gearing up for the release of his next movie ‘Jersey’. He also has Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s upcoming directorial ‘Karna’ in his kitty.
