Sky Force has brought a needed boost for Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, emerging as his most successful release in recent years. The film had a strong opening with impressive double-digit earnings.

As reports, Sky Force earned Rs 11.25 crore (net) on its opening day. The movie was made on a relatively modest budget of Rs 160 crore.
Akshay Kumar’s last major box office success was Sooryavanshi (2021), directed by Rohit Shetty. The film, made on a budget of ₹160 crores, garnered an impressive ₹293 crore globally.
In contrast, his recent releases—Khel Khel Mein, Sarfira, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Mission Raniganj, Selfiee, Ram Setu, Raksha Bandhan, Samrat Prithviraj, and Bachchhan Paandey—struggled to leave an impact at the box office.
Akshay Kumar’s most recent significant release, Singham Again, earned ₹372.4 crore globally. However, the film was headlined by Ajay Devgn and featured an ensemble cast, with Akshay playing a cameo role. Similarly, he made a guest appearance in Stree 2, which performed exceptionally well, grossing ₹857.15 crore worldwide.
Since the launch of its trailer, Sky Force has been compared to Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. Released around Republic Day last year, Fighter earned ₹22.5 crore on its opening day. With a production budget of ₹250 crore, the film became a hit, amassing ₹358.83 crore globally.

Marking his acting debut, Veer Pahariya stars as IAF officer T. Vijaya, who goes missing in action during the conflict. Akshay Kumar plays KO Ahuja, a fellow officer determined to lead a mission to locate him.
The film also stars Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan in pivotal roles. Directed by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur, Sky Force is a tribute to unsung heroes.
