4. Kareena- The ‘Face’ Of A ‘Love Jihaad’ Campaign:
In 2015, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had inadvertently used a morphed picture of Bebo for their controversial campaign ‘Love Jihaad’, published by Durga Vahini. The picture apparently showed half of the actress’s face wearing a sindoor, while the other half was covered by a Naqab (veil). The campaign supposedly wanted to ‘reconvert’ Hindu women who got married to Muslim men.
5. Scuffle With A Businessman:
Back in 2012, Saif allegedly got himself involved in a brawl at a restaurant in Mumbai’s Taj Hotel. Reportedly, the actor was accused of misbehaving and landing up in a scuffle with an NRI businessman named Iqbal Mir Sharma. Apart from the couple, Bebo’s sister Karisma, and her best friends Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora were also said to be present at the spot.
6. Saif Ali Khan’s Padma Shri:
2 years after this incident, RTI activist S C Agrawal had filed a complaint with the Union Home Ministry in 2014 and demanded that the actor should be stripped off the Padma Shri, that was given to him in 2010, as a Mumbai court had framed charges against him for the alleged assault. However, the government had rejected the demand saying, “It would be unfair to strip a person with outstanding achievement in a field just because he is convicted in a case relating to a minor scuffle.”
