Recently, reports went viral that Dhak Dhak gal Madhuri Dixit and the glamorous diva Rekha are reuniting onscreen after Lajja.
The project in question was said to be Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s much-talked-about Netflix web series ‘Heeramandi’.
Even though nothing has been confirmed, the buzz about the series has been going strong. From Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Huma Qureshi, Nimrat Kaur, Sayani Gupta, Manisha Koirala to Alia Bhatt, speculation has been rife about the series’s cast, as per previous reports.
Latest to join the list – are Madhuri Dixit and Rekha. However, the latest report from IWM Buzz, has something contrary to say.
A source told the portal that Bhansali has DENIED approaching Rekha and Madhuri for Heera Mandi. Bhansali has allegedly said, “Just because we are not refuting any of the speculative reports on the casting, the portals are going berserk doing their own casting for my film. Every day I wake up to hear who is in Heeramandi.”
Meanwhile, talking about the Netflix series – it’s set in Lahore of pre-Independent India and will showcase the stories of courtesans; the hidden cultural reality of Heeramandi (a district in Lahore).
