Yes, Bollywood is all set to make another biopic on a sportsperson.
Now, the ex-Indian skipper- Sourav Ganguly– has finally given the green signal to shoot his biopic.
Confirming the news to the media, the current BCCI president & former Indian cricket team captain stated, “Yes, I have agreed to the biopic. It will be in Hindi but it is not possible to say the name of the director now. It will take a few more days for arranging everything.”
According to the portal, the biopic is expected to be produced by a big-banner production house with a massive budget of Rs 200 to Rs 250 CRORES. Ganguly also revealed that the script is currently being written and the production house has already had multiple meetings with him.
Aren’t you guys curious to know who’s leading the race to become the ‘reel-life’ Dada in his biopic? Well, as News18 reported, it’s none other than Ranbir Kapoor. Reportedly, RK is Sourav’s ‘hot choice’ to play the lead role.
However, two other actors are also being considered for the role.
From his earlier days as a young cricketer to becoming the captain of the Indian cricket team to donning the hat of BCCI president (The Board of Control for Cricket in India)- Dada’s entire journey will be showcased on the silver screen.
Earlier, biopics have been made on cricketers like M.S Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar & Mohammad Azharuddin. Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma will also portray Indian women’s pacer Jhulan Goswami in her biopic.
