Since the announcement of the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster ‘Vikram Vedha’, fans were curious to know the Bollywood re-cast.
While Saif Ali Khan has been confirmed for the cop’s role, which was played by R. Madhavan in the original, Aamir Khan has walked out from the project.
Well, there is good news for all the Hrithik Roshan fans out there. The ‘Krrish’ actor has reportedly come on board for the 2017 Tamil classic blockbuster.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Hrithik will be essaying the role of the gangster Vedha, which was played by the superstar Vijay Sethupathi in the original crime thriller.
“Hrithik Roshan has been in talks for the film for a couple of months and he has finally agreed on doing the film. In-fact, Hrithik was in talks for the film even before they reached out to Aamir, however, things didn’t materialize back then. But as they say, its life coming full circle now, and the film is back in Hrithik’s kitty,” the source added.
The source also revealed that this project will mark Hrithik’s silver jubilee film in his career.
Announcing the Hindi casting, trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to Twitter on Friday and wrote, “#VikramVedha Hindi casting.. @iHrithik to do @VijaySethuOffl role.. #SaifAliKhan to do @ActorMadhavan role… Fantastic casting.”
The Bollywood remake will be directed by Pushkar-Gayathri, who also helmed the Tamil original. The film, backed by Neeraj Panday, is expected to go on floors soon.
The film draws from the ancient lore of Vikram-Betaal, where a wily gangster manages to escape every time a determined cop nabs him, by narrating a new story drawn from his own life.
Meanwhile, Hrithik is all set to make his digital debut with ‘The Night Manager’ Hindi adaptation for Disney+ Hotstar.
