Fans are eagerly waiting for Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated biographical sports drama ‘Maidaan’.
Earlier, the makers announced that ‘Maidaan’ will release on 13th August 2021. However, that’s not the case anymore.
On Saturday, sharing a new poster, the ‘Shivaay’ actor announced a new release date for his upcoming biographical sports drama. This Amit Ravindernath Sharma directorial will hit theatres on 15th October 2021, on the occasion of Dussehra.
Sharing the news of resuming the shoot in Jan, the 51-year-old actor took to Twitter and wrote, “‘Maidaan’ now releases worldwide in theatres on Dussehra 2021. Shoot commences January 2021.”
Earlier in June, the makers dismantled the huge football set despite having 30 days shoot left because of the lockdown and Mumbai’s monsoon. However, the set will be rebuilt on a 16-acre land in the outskirts of Mumbai.
Co-produced by Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor, ‘Maidaan’ is being dedicated to the golden years of Indian football. Ajay will be seen essaying the character of coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who is widely known as the founding father of Indian football.
Earlier, the release date of this movie was pushed thrice. Initially, the movie was scheduled to release on 27th November 2020, which was later changed to 11th December. Then it was again changed to amid Independence week 13th August 2021.
‘Maidaan’ will be releasing in 4 languages– Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
