As the farmers continue to protest against the farm laws, many celebrities are coming out in support of them.
Now the popular Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has extended support to them in their protest.
On Saturday, the ‘Phillauri’ actor joined the farmers at Delhi’s Singhu border in their protest against the three farm laws brought in by the Central government.
Requesting the government to accept the farmers’ demand, Diljit said, “I want to urge the government to accept the demand of farmers. I would also like to urge the media to support us, these farmers are sitting peacefully with their demands, please show that and support us.”
As per ANI, urging the central government to fulfill their demands, Diljit said, “We have only one request to Centre..please fulfill the demands of our farmers. Everyone is sitting here peacefully & the entire country is with farmers.”
Praising the farmers for creating a new history, Diljit added, “Hats off to all of you farmers who have created a new history. This history would be narrated to future generations. Farmers’ issues shouldn’t be diverted by anyone.”
The ‘Soorma’ actor also shared a picture of him in the protest. “Baba Ang Sang Sahai Hove #farmerprotest,” he captioned it.
As per ETimes, Diljit also ‘quietly’ donated Rs 1 Crore to buy warm clothes for the protesting farmers. Punjabi singer Singga revealed this on his Instagram story as Diljit didn’t want to make a ‘big deal’ out of it.
