Recently, actor Himanshu Kohli, who is also Neha Kakkar’s ex-boyfriend, took to social media in reaction to an edited video wherein he was morphed in it.
In the video, Himanshu was apparently seen ‘apologizing’ to his newly married ex Neha Kakkar.
Himanshu wrote, “I wonder when such manipulative content will be banned from social media. Who is benefitting from all this nonsense? What’s more upsetting is that people are sharing this actively. Please wake up and stop spreading the hatred and this fake post. Sudhar jao.“
In an exclusive interview, Kohli revealed that even though Neha and he had broken up over two years ago, his family and he himself are still facing the brunt of the breakup by being a constant target for trolls on social media.
“I have been ignoring such memes, DMs, comments, mentions, posts for two years now. I have been targeted by pathetic statements on social media which have literally spoilt my mood at that moment innumerable times. Think about talking about your happy days, your special moments, your new projects, or simply wishing someone birthday, and all the comments are about your past relationship which didn’t work out. I still get those, and I thought it’s time to put an end to it once and for all.“
“While I always believe that it’s best to avoid, I thought this particular content piece looked like it was made to defame me and was gaining traction. So, I thought to call it out and tell my fans that it’s fake before more people start abusing me on social media only because two people didn’t work out. Honestly, I can manage all this with ease. I have been raised right and strong enough to deal with my issues,” he states.
Himanshu also adds that he feel scared for his family, not him. “I don’t feel scared for myself, but for my parents, because I don’t want their name to be tarnished, especially due to a controversy that I have no role in. It took some time for my parents to worry less about all the messages sent to them. People didn’t even think once before abusing them through DMs and comments questioning their integrity. They had to deal with all that because they are my parents and it’s an awful feeling to put your parents through something like this. But, they are wise and evolved with ease, but people need to evolve too.”
Kohli also stated, “I really want to request everyone who comments, ‘Bhai Nehu ki shaadi ho gayi’ ki mujhe pata hai. I’m happy for the newlywed couple and I’m happy for myself. I am sick of the baseless trolling. And if people are really interested to only make fun of me, at least talk about relevant and recent things.”
