Late Legendary singer, S.P Balasubrahmanyam laid to rest today at his farmhouse in Chennai with full state honors, announced, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.
The CM took to Twitter and said that S.P Balasubrahmanyam has found a permanent place in the hearts of people of Tamil Nadu and also the entire country.
S.P Balasubrahmanyam passed away on 25th September, 2020 and the last rites were performed by his family at his farmhouse in Tamaraipakkam, near Red Hills at 11 am today. The mortals of the late singer were brought from the MGM Healthcare hospital to his house at Kamdhar Nagar in Nungambakkam.
Several politicians, musicians, and fans paid their last tribute to the singer at his house. The singer had tested positive for coronavirus in August and was admitted to MGM hospital. Later, his condition deteriorated and was put on a ventilator and EGMO support. Even though he tested negative for COVID-19 in September, his lunge were highly affected.
S.P Balasubrahmanyam was hospitalized for 50 days and passed away at the age of 74.
