With the topic of ‘Nepotism’ being reignited in Bollywood after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, everyone has been adding their own take to the debate.
Anurag Kashyap, who has been actively participating in the heated debate, was asked what he would do if his daughter Aaliyah wanted to enter the film industry.
Talking to NDTV, Anurag stated that even if his daughter wanted to be an actor, she would have to learn and struggle.
“She’s an adult, she has to choose, but definitely she has to learn… She can’t wake up one day and say ‘I want to be an actor’,” said Anurag.
Elaborating further, he said his daughter would have to do it on her own merit, by struggling, auditioning and then winning the role somewhere.
“If she wants to do it, she has to struggle for it and go and audition for it and win a role somewhere.”
Anurag also emphasized that he was a ‘street kid’, and his daughter being an ‘urban kid’ wouldn’t fit in the kind of movies he made.
“I don’t think I write movies which are so urban where she will fit in. She’s an urban kid; she’s not a street kid like me.”
Looks like Aaliyah Kashyap will have to make it all on her own if she decides to debut in Bollywood!
