Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is well known for his interesting and unique films and now, he’s one of the most understanding dads we have around!
Anurag’s daughter Aaliyah Kashyap has her own YouTube channel where she already has a 64 Thousand subscription.
Aaliyah makes relatable videos including topics that also promote social awareness from time to time. Her recent video is an ode to Father’s Day where she invited her dad to chat with her. Her boyfriend Shane had his own cameo in the beginning.
The video, titled ‘Asking my Dad awkward questions’, was a fun session where the father-daughter duo conversed about issues that may be considered a taboo in many families.
Aaliyah asked Anurag what his reaction would be to an unplanned pregnancy. To that he answered, “I will ask you, ‘Are you sure you want this?’ And whatever you choose to do, I will always go with it, you know that.”
Next, the two spoke on premarital sex and Anurag’s opinion on it was, “No, we need to understand sexuality and sex and our own human body. We need to understand that first before we just jump into doing things out of peer pressure. Anything done out of peer pressure is not good. Anything done to look cool is not good. Anything done to belong to a certain group of people is not good. Do it because you want to do something because you feel ready and you have someone. It has to be special.“
As for daddy’s opinions on boyfriend Shane, Kashyap thinks he is a spiritual and calm person with qualities that even men in their 40’s do not possess. He also stressed the point that parents these days need to understand that India has changed a lot. He feels the older generation is a more repressed one as compared to the current lot. He says, “Our kids are much more expressive and they will communicate, and I think we need to stop imposing ourselves on them.”
