Dharmendra was madly in love with Hema. But initially Hema did not reciprocate her feelings back to Dharmendra, as she was not keen on getting involved with a married man. But then, love happened and they tied the knot in 1980. Before their marriage, they both converted to Islam, since Dharmendra’s first wife, Prakash Kaur, was not ready to give Dharmendra a divorce.
