The good-looking actor Akshay Kharodia was recently seen romancing Krystle D’Souza in the music video ‘Ek Bewafaa’.
Now, we hear that Akshay is being troubled by a person who’s been using his name to trap girls for a couple of years now.
According to reports, from the last 4-5 years, a person has apparently been misusing Akshay’s pictures to trap girls on social media. Reportedly, the fraudster has also threatened them to leak their nude pics and extorted almost Rs 20-25 lakhs from those girls.
Now, talking to SpotboyE, the actor has revealed that despite his complaint, the legal authorities haven’t taken any action against the fraudster yet.
“There are a lot of fake IDs who are using my name and pictures and are trapping people especially girls. I have heard the name of this guy named Ritwik Singh from people who have been doing it for a while now. I had filed a complaint 4 years ago about the matter, but there was no action taken. There was no response from the police or the cyber-crime people,” the actor revealed to the portal.
What the fraudster exactly does? Talking about it, Akshay says, “So what this guy does is that he pretends that he is me and then he talks to girls and makes them fall in love and asks nude pictures from them and then blackmails them and asks for money. So, as per the information I have received in my DM, he has almost done Rs 20-25 lakhs scam till now. I keep on getting emails and messages from girls from all over India telling me what is happening with them. Problem is that my page is not verified yet on social media so people don’t know who the real guy is. These guys who do such scams choose weak-hearted people and I don’t know why girls fall into such traps without talking to them on a video call or knowing them well.”
Continuing further, he added, “When they get to know that they have fallen in a trap, I get messages from them saying that I made them fall in love and then ditched them. I just tell such girls to take a legal action against them. But unfortunately, they are not able to do anything as they have shared their private pictures with the fraudster. So, this guy takes the money from them and then blocks them. So, I had filed a complaint about this but never received a reply from them and till now this guy has been doing such scams.”
“At the start, I used to receive one or two mails from such victims but currently I have been getting back-to-back mails and messages. The guy who has been doing this tells that his father is in police and that he had a girlfriend who died in a car accident and makes it all emotional so that these girls trust him,” he added.
Akshay, who is one of the lead actors of Star Plus’s show Pandya Stores, is currently in outdoor busy shooting, has once again raised the complaint. He said, “As of now I mentioned his name and number on my story and tagged Mumbai police also so that they check into this matter. I am shooting out so I am not able to go to the police station and complain, so I did that. Also, my co-actors have helped me in this matter by tagging Mumbai police so that it reaches till them and they look into this matter.“
“I would just suggest the young girls to not have blind faith in such random guys. If you are helping someone or even making friends with someone, first know that person well, talk to them on a video call and then take a step maybe. How can you just trust on the basis of the person’s pictures on social media? In today’s time, you can easily video call the person on any social media platform. So, please talk about this. If you trust blindly, you will hurt yourself, your parents, and also your image because if someone has your nude pictures today, he will blackmail you, take the money, and also you can’t trust whether he will share the pictures or not. I can only do a police complaint and the girls will have to take precautions. So first they should ensure who the person is and then take a step ahead,” the actor concluded.
