Sonu Sood, one of Bollywood’s most loved, is now appointed as the State Icon of Punjab by the Election Commission.
The Punjab Governer, V P Singh Badnore, posted an announcement on Twitter making the news official.
The announcement read, “I congratulate @SonuSood the youth icon, appointed as the State icon by the #ECI to make people aware about ethical voting. Your efforts during the trying time of #Covid situation are widely appreciated.”
Sood himself took to Twitter to reply to the post saying, “Thank you so much for your encouraging words sir. It’s been an honour that cannot be expressed in words. Humbled.”
As per an NDTV report, Penguin Random House India had announced that Sonu will be penning an autobiography that will elaborate and speak about his experiences during the pandemic. The autobiography will be co-written by Meena Iyer and will be titled “I Am No Messiah.”
“People have been very kind and have lovingly named me Messiah. But I really do believe that I am no Messiah. I simply do what my heart tells me to. It is our responsibility as human beings to be compassionate and help each other,” says Sood.
Sood’s book will be published and released this coming December.
