Storyline:
Kanika (Bhumi Pednekar) is a 30-something woman who has never had an orgasm. From being Kuwari, Gandi, to Kaandi… Kanika is tired of all the labels society has been throwing her way.
Unlike her unwed still-single mother, Kanika decides to give marriage a chance and gives up her fairytale dreams to settle down with the seedha-sadha Jeevan Anand.
At their roka ceremony, in a drunken haze, Kanika finally gets the pleasure she had been desperately seeking all this while. But who gave her the big-O? The potential candidates range from her boring fiance, an ex-boyfriend, an old professor to a potential crush. Or was it someone else entirely?

Thank You For Coming is a delightful, fun, glamorous sex comedy film. Anil Kapoor’s son-in-law Karan Boolani marks his directorial debut with this project and he’s made an engaging film that hits the right spot without getting vulgar anywhere given the bold topic.

The 1st half is glam, frivolous and light-hearted. The comedy works because the girl gang (Dolly Singh, Shehnaaz Gill, Shibani Bedi) has good, entertaining chemistry with Bhumi. This sex-positive film gets real and relatable without resorting to obscenity in its messaging. The pacing is engaging and you’ll not feel bored for a moment.

The 2nd half touches on some sensitive topics like slut-shaming (carried gracefully by a teenage Saloni Daini), self-love, acceptance and more. Karan Boolani does a good job for nearly three-quarters of the film but the ending is jarringly over-the-top. The climax seems very ham-fisted though, and the monologue at the end feels cringe and in-your-face instead of empowering. But apart from that, it’s quite a fun flick to watch.

Bhumi Pednekar looks ultra glamorous and gives a daring, bold, energetic performance as the sexually frustrated Kanika. This is a Bhumi Pednekar film through-and-through! She does not miss a beat or appear awkward anywhere and has totally owned this role. She’s more than just a pretty face though – Pednekar makes you empathize completely with the character.

Shehnaaz Gill as the OTT diva is a fun addition to the cast and is having a blast. Shibani Bedi and Dolly Singh have aced their roles too with their comic timing. Both get a satisfying emotional scene in the climax.
Kusha Kapila has quite a limited screen time, a cameo almost, as the mean, bitchy friend from school. Anil Kapoor is dashing for his age and leaves an impact in the brief screen time he gets. Sushant Divgikar stands out with a powerful, sassy performance!
