Heeramandi Series by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is set to have another addition to the cast allegedly.
Apparently, a father-son duo is going to feature in this Netflix series. If recent reports are to be believed then, Shekhar Suman and son Adhyayan Suman are both starring in this SLB project.
Heeramandi To Feature Shekhar & Adhyayan Suman?
As per Koimoi, Shekhar will play the role of a nawab in this show. Adhyayan too is playing a Nawab, and reportedly the actor received quite some praise from Bhansali! This is the first time that the father-son will share screen space together.
A source said, “Adhyayan Suman, who plays a nawab in the show, had to perform a scene with Richa Chadha and right after the shot SLB went upto to him and said, ‘Why you till now?’ and gave him a tight hug. It happened a few times. Adhyayan hasn’t really got the opportunity and I am sure this project will give him his due as an actor.
Heeramandi Cast:
The political drama will see Sanjay Leela Bhansali bring his majestic signature flair to stories of love and betrayal in the lives of courtesans in pre-independence India.
The cast includes Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chaddha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Sheikh. Penned by Moin Beg, it has been adapted into an eight-episode series by writers Vibhu Puri, Mitakshara Kumar and Snehil Dixit Mehra.
If previous reports are to be believed then a grand set worth a whopping amount of Rs 1.75 Crores had apparently been built at Film City, Mumbai. Reportedly, the set recreated the Pakistani city of Lahore from 1945.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is busy with Baiju Bawra which reportedly stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
SLB’s last directorial Gangubai Kathiawadi shone big – it won Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Editing at National Awards 2023. And Alia Bhatt who played the titular role bagged the Best Actress honour at the 69th National Film Awards.
