Police officer Gia (Sonam) gets into a car accident while driving along with her bratty younger brother. The fateful incident kills him and also causes her to lose her eyesight.

She starts to get accustomed to life as a blind person until something shocking happens one night. A serial killer (Purab) tricks her into getting into his car by claiming to be a taxi service. Gia gets suspicious after she hears the commotion coming from the trunk of his car. Though he tries to restrain her, Gia manages to escape the situation.

When she goes to the police to report the case, Officer Prithvi (Vinay) dismisses her at first but then takes her claims seriously, once she demonstrates her acute perceptive skills. Another potential eyewitness (Shubham) in the case turns up, and he ignites Gia’s sisterly protective streak.

With the serial killer still on the loose… stalking both eyewitnesses, will the blind Gia outsmart him?

Blind starts off on a promising note but ends up petering out. The slow-burn pace and subdued tone eventually end up being a rather bland thriller fare. Aside from a fleeting allusion to his mommy issues, the character motivations of the serial killer are left vague.

That being said, there are no complaints on the acting front. Sonam Kapoor as the blind Gia is convincing for the most part and gives an understated performance. Her emotional dynamic with Shubham Saraf is touching enough. Wish it had been developed more substantially.

Blind Review - Vinay Pathak
Blind Review

Purab Kohli nails the unhinged, menacing serial killer act. It would have been a genuinely terrifying role if the screenplay had supported his competent performance. Instead, both Sonam and Purab are let down by the mediocre writing. The climax sequence is rather odd and questionable.

Vinay Pathak brings some chuckles to his part and delivers a sincere enough performance. Shubham Saraf is excellent in his role and seems to be a promising young actor. Overall, given the exciting thriller premise, Blind feels rather disappointingly half-baked in its execution.
