Dream Girl 2 has been postponed! The makers have announced a new release date instead now…
Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the Dream Girl sequel stars Ananya Panday opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.
The cast also includes Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Seema Pahwa, Govardhan Asrani, Abhishek Banerjee, Manjot Singh, Manoj Joshi.
Initially, Dream Girl 2 was slated for a 7th July 2023 release. However, now a new release date has been confirmed – it arrives in theatres on 25th August 2023.
Why The Delay?
Ektaa Kapoor revealed the reason why Dream Girl 2 is being delayed – they want to perfect the extensive VFX work to make sure Ayushmann’s look as Pooja is seamless.
“We want Ayushmann Khurrana’s character to look perfect as Pooja in Dream Girl 2, and that’s why we are taking extra time to perfect the VFX work for the face. We want to ensure that our viewers get the best possible experience when they watch the movie. The VFX work for ‘Dream Girl 2’ is an integral part of the movie, and we want to ensure that we deliver a high-quality product to our audiences,” Ekta commented.
The 1st part starred Ayushmann Khurrana, and Nushrat Bharucha in the lead. It revolved around Karamveer who gets a job at a call centre due to his ability to talk in a female voice. He garners a big fan following but soon gets in trouble with his overzealous clients.
