Nora Fatehi had recently filed a defamation suit against Jacqueline Fernandez.
Nora’s plea claims that the allegations that she received multi-crore gifts from Sukesh Chandrashekhar are false. She also accused Jacqueline of tarnishing her reputation with defamatory remarks.
Jacqueline was made an accused in the Chandrashekhar 200-crore scam case and had allegedly objected to Nora being a ‘witness’ in spite of reportedly receiving gifts from him.
In her plea, Nora said that she had never spoken or met with Chandrashekhar, hence allegations of getting gifts from him were baseless. Nora also lamented the loss of lucrative, professional deals owing to controversy.
She stated that she had lost out on a Dubai-based concert, 10 city tours in the US and Canada and even had to take a 50% cut in brand fees.
Meanwhile, Jacqueline has maintained that she never spoke ill about Nora. Fernandez’s lawyer further argued that ‘saying something to competent authorities during an ongoing investigation is not defamation’.
