Co-starring Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Shah Rukh Khan, the movie already crossed the 350-crore mark in worldwide collections.
Previously, it was alleged that RK had charged Rs 25-30 crores to headline Brahmastra. Recently, rumours are rife hat given the mammoth budget, Ranbir had to forgo his fee for the making of this film.
During an interview with trade analyst Komal Nahta, RK reportedly clarified that he didn’t take a single penny to play the lead.
Talking about it, Ranbir said –
“Aapne jo prashna pucha ki maine kuch charge kiya ya nhi kiya, actually maine kiya (You asked if I charged anything or not, actually I did). This is an equity I have for life, I’m also part producer of the film. Meri nazariya aur soch long run hai (I am thinking more long term). Maine part one me paise nhi liye (I didn’t charge for part 1) but eventually jo faith aur belief hai ki 3 parts mein jo yeh film bana sakti hai (but the faith that I have about the amount that the film will make over three parts), that is beyond anything I’d get as an actor, price as an actor.”
In one of the clippings of the interview, Ayan can be heard saying,
“Yeh film hamari bohut hi zid aur personal sacrifices se bani hai. So yes, yeh sach hai ki jo Ranbir ki price as a star, actor it is on a film, he did not take anything for the making of Brahmastra. Aur main manta hoon ke iske baigaar hum yeh film ko bana nahi paate. It is a very very big thing kyuki it would not have been possible.”
