Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, known for his performances in Gully Boy and Gehraiyaan, is gearing up for his next project, Yudhra. He recently revealed that he turned down a role in Brahmastra.
In a conversation with Humans of Bombay, he disclosed that he was originally cast in Brahmastra alongside Amitabh Bachchan, and Ranbir Kapoor, but withdrew due to his father.

Chaturvedi shared, “It was at a very early stage… I was an unknown, a struggler. So, who am I to say no to Ayan Mukerji, Dharma, and Brahmastra?” Despite his enthusiasm for the film, which was still in its writing phase, his father ultimately decided against it. “I could have done it, but my father wouldn’t let me. Even today, he pushes me by saying, ‘You’re better than this.’ I told him the film stars Ranbir, Alia, and Amitabh Bachchan, and he responded, ‘Who will notice you in that?‘”
Recalling his father’s advice, Siddhant added, “He said, ‘No son, I don’t think you should take it. Do you have the script? Have you auditioned? If you don’t know what role you’re playing, don’t sell your destiny.'” Although Siddhant had signed a three-film deal with Dharma Productions, his father was wary of him being overshadowed by the big names in Brahmastra. However, when Siddhant secured a role in Gully Boy, featuring two pivotal scenes, his father recognized it as a promising step forward.
On the work front, Siddhant Chaturvedi will next be seen in Yudhra. Ravi Udyawar directs the movie, and also stars Malavika Mohanan and Raghav Juyal. Produced by Farhan Akhtar and others under Excel Entertainment, the film features a talented cast, including Ram Kapoor, Gajraj Rao, and Shilpa Shukla and is set to release on September 20.
