Vidya Balan’s iconic 2011 hit – The Dirty Picture is allegedly getting a sequel.
The Dirty Picture 2 will reportedly be penned by Kanika Dhillon (of Manmarziyaan, Haseen Dillruba fame).
A source told Peeping Moon, that producer Ekta Kapoor is backing the sequel and Kanika will finish writing it by 2022 end. The plan is to take it on the floors in the first half of 2023.
Taapsee Pannu and Kriti Sanon have expressed their explicit interest in starring in the project allegedly.
“Ekta wanted to cast Kangana Ranaut, but she has politely turned down the offer as she doesn’t want to disturb her righteous image. Taapsee, Kriti, and others have expressed their interest, but Ekta has requested them to wait until the writing is finished. It’s also yet unclear if Milan Luthria will return to direct or someone else will helm it this time around,” the source concluded.
The sequel will be standalone and not focus on Silk Smitha at all but instead be on another bold but empowering female.
