Besides her films, actress Jacqueline Fernandez has been in the news lately regarding the Rs 200-crore money-laundering case.
Jacqueline landed into legal trouble after she was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the alleged money-laundering case against the conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.
ED is currently probing the Rs 200-crore extortion racket, which was led by Sukesh from inside the Tihar Jail. Jacqueline and Nora Fatehi were recently questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) NOT as accused but as WITNESSES in the case.
Reportedly, both the actresses fell pray to Sukesh’s ploy through his actress-wife Leena Paul. The anti-probe officials reportedly claimed that Sukesh had conned the actresses by gifting them luxurious cars. He had also promised a huge amount of money to them and producer Sajid Nadiadwala.
Meanwhile, rumours went rife claiming that Jacqueline Fernandez was allegedly dating the notorious conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. As per an India Today report, Sukesh’s lawyer Anant Malik had told the media, “Jacqueline and Sukesh were dating, these are my instructions, this is straight from the horse’s mouth.”
Now, according to The Indian Express, Jacqueline’s spokesperson has officially issued a statement denying the rumours of Jacqueline’s alleged relationship with Sukesh.
The statement read- “Jacqueline Fernandez is being called to testify as a witness by the ED. She has duly recorded her statements and in future will also be completely co-operating with the agency in the investigations. Jacqueline also categorically denies alleged slanderous statements made about relationship with the involved couple.”
On October 20, the ‘Bhoot Poilce’ actress appeared before the officials for the second round of questioning in connection with this case.
