Bollywood films have made an irreplaceable space in our hearts along with giving us many timeless blockbusters.
We already know the names of a couple of legendary Bollywood families but here are 6 actors who have had the opportunity to share screen space with their parents!
1. Ranbir Kapoor – Rishi Kapoor & Neetu Kapoor
We’re going to start off with the legendary and talented Kapoor Klan. Our Bollywood sweetheart Ranbir Kapoor had once acted in the same movie as his real-life parents – Neetu Kapoor and the late Rishi Kapoor. The film is titled Besharam and was released in 2013.
2. Alia Bhatt – Soni Razdan
We already know Alia Bhatt is the daughter of veteran director Mahesh Bhatt. Of course, she’s been starred in films made by her dad but she also shared screen space once with her mom, Soni Razdan, in the film Raazi. Raazi was released in 2018 and gained a lot of critical appreciation.
3. Sonam Kapoor – Anil Kapoor
Sonam Kapoor and daddy Anil Kapoor are one of the sweetest dad-daughter duos belonging to a Bollywood family. The pair were cast together for the first time in 2019 for the film Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Later on, Sonam had a smaller role in the dramedy AK VS AK that also starred Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap.
4. Abhishek Bachchan – Amitabh Bachchan
Here’s a Bollywood favourite father-son duo in real and reel life. Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan have acted together in 4 films, all of which have been super hits. The first film Amitabh and Abhishek starred in together is titled Sarkar which was released in 2005. Then followed Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and lastly, the film that captured everyone’s hearts – Paa (2009).
5. Sanjay Dutt – Sunil Dutt
Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. is one of Sanjay Dutt‘s most loved and watched films. This movie, apart from turning out to be the legend it is, stars yet another father-son duo. The late Sunil Dutt, Sanjay’s dad irl, was cast as the latter’s father character in this film too.
6. Randhir Kapoor – Raj Kapoor – Prithviraj Kapoor
As we keep the best for the last, Kal Aaj Aur Kal (1971) marked Randhir Kapoor’s debut in Bollywood. This film will be a historic masterpiece because it features three generations of the Kapoor family, starting with the late Prithviraj Kapoor, his son the late Raj Kapoor and his grandson Randhir Kapoor.
