SonyLIV series ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ changed Pratik Gandhi’s life completely.
The actor became a star overnight after his breakthrough performance as Harshad Mehta in the show.
In the meantime, he has already bagged the roles in Bollywood movies like- ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan?’, Aditya Dhar’s ‘Raat Baaki’, which is now being revived with Pratik & Yami Gautam. According to reports, Pratik has also been roped in to star opposite Vidya Balan in Tanuj Garg’s next.
And now, if this media report is to be believed, the 41-year-old actor has signed a new film, titled ‘Do Beegha Zameen’. Touted to be a slice-of-life drama, Pratik will reportedly be essaying the role of an IIT student in this film.
While ‘Do Beegha Zameen’ is said to be showcasing how a person eventually succeeds in his life despite failing in IIT, the Alt Balaji series ‘Bose: Dead/Alive’ fame Pulkit is apparently directing this movie. Shaailesh R Singh is bankrolling the movie under his banner Karma Media & Entertainment in association with Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
“The makers were looking for a title that’s apt for the film’s socialist theme. After mulling over several names, they finally decided to go ahead with the Bimal Roy film’s title as it perfectly fits into its storyline,” an insider informed the portal.
However, the report further suggests that this has nothing to do with the classic 1953 movie.
‘Do Beegha Zameen’ is expected to go on floors on August 15 in Jhansi.
