Bollywood star Alia Bhatt is all set for her Telugu debut in ‘RRR’, which features Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, RRR is one of the most highly-anticipated pan-India releases this year.
Set in the 1920s, the movie is a fictionalised account of Telugu tribal leaders Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem ( Jr NTR), with Alia playing Ram Charan’s love interest Sita.
Now, the title of the movie has been grabbing headlines since people are curious what ‘RRR’ stands for – be it Rise, Roar, Revolt Or Roudram Ranam Rudhiram. When Jr NTR was chatting with Deadline about the movie, he revealed a fun fact about the title!
JR NTR commented – “It’s basically RRR, but you can call it Triple R. It started off with our names (Rajamouli, Ram Charan, Rama Rao), a quirky way of us getting together and making the biggest multi-star film India has ever seen. It was just a working title, but it got so famous, at some point Rajamouli thought, ‘why not name it Triple R’? Then he came up with the abbreviation Rise, Roar, Revolt.”
He also went on to emphasize that RRR won’t be releasing on OTT.
“RRR was never considered for an OTT release. There are certain films that need to be enjoyed as a community on a large screen. We are willing to wait for cinemas.”
Though the release date is scheduled to be 13th October 2021, given the pandemic scenario, the date might get postponed. Let’s wait and see.
