The Covid-19 second wave again led the producers to rethink their movie release strategies.
Recently, there were also talks of Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom having an OTT release.
Reports have been doing rounds lately that Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, and Lara Dutta starrer Bell Bottom might have a digital release. As per a Pinkvilla report, the team was supposedly in talks with Amazon Prime Video as well as Disney+ Hotstar and has apparently expected a deal of up to Rs 150 crores.
Now, according to the latest Peeping Moon report, Bell Bottom producer Pooja Entertainment has issued a statement refuting all the reports of the Akshay Kumar starrer having an OTT release. They have requested everyone to not believe any reports regarding the impending release date or the film taking the digital route to release.
The statement reads, “Pooja Entertainment would like to quash all speculation in some sections of the media regarding the release of our upcoming film Bellbottom. Any announcement regarding the impending release of the film will be made by Pooja Entertainment at the opportune time. Nobody other than Pooja Entertainment has the mandate to make any statements with regards to any development with the film. We would like to request the media to support us as you always have and refrain from publishing any information that is not officially communicated by us. Stay safe and mask up. Our prayers with one and all.“
Set in the ’80s, the spy thriller is slated to hit theatres on May 28.
