Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali & Deepika Padukone make the perfect director-actress duo.
The duo has delivered three amazing blockbuster movies- ‘Ram Leela’, ‘Bajrao Mastani’, and ‘Padmaavat’.
Recently, there have been reports doing rounds that things are not apparently well between SLB & Deepika.
As Bollywood Hungama reported, Deepika got reportedly upset with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for not offering her the lead role for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.
As per their report, SLB later reportedly offered a dance number in the movie as compensation, which Deepika apparently rejected. Post that, SLB again supposedly offered the option of being the lead in ‘Heera Mandi’ or a dance number in the web show. But the ‘Piku’ actress apparently rejected that as well.
So, is that means the cold war news is true? Well, apparently these are all false stories. At least the Spotboye report states so.
Their sources close to the filmmaker dismissed the report and claimed that this is a “figment of an over-fertile imagination”.
“Deepika and Ranveer both continue to remain close to Sanjay Bhansali. In fact, all through the period when Sanjay was suffering from Covid-19 they messaged him every day asking how he was.”
While asking about offering a dance number to compensate, the source quoted saying, “Do you think it makes sense to offer a dance number to an actress if she has been rejected for the lead? No, Deepika was never offered ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. She was already playing a female gangster in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Sapna Didi based on a work of the same author who wrote ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Of course, that project got shelved. But by then Sanjay Bhansali had moved on.”
“Provided these fake stories of a rift do not take a toll on their rapport,” the source concluded.
