Actress- turned-author, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has gotten personal, honest and vulnerable in her memoir ‘Unfinished’.
The book not only has some beautiful personal stories, serious professional (and unpleasant?) experiences but also some hilarious, goofy anecdotes!
As per Zoom report, Priyanka has recalled a funny story when she had to stuff her boyfriend in the closet to hide from her Masi (aunt)!
During her teen years, our Desi Girl had shifted to Indianapolis to live with her Aunt Kiran. While attending the North Central High School in 10th grade, PeeCee met her first boyfriend Bob (name changed) and they had a cute, puppy love romance.
He used to wait outside her class making funny faces, hold hands with her in the hallway, write notes… and he even gifted her his gold chain. Naturally, Priyanka naively thought they would end up getting married! Aww.
Coming to the juicy part, when her Aunt caught her red-handed with Bob –
“One day Bob and I were sitting on the couch watching television, innocently holding hands, when suddenly, outside the window on the sidewalk below, I saw my aunt making her way up the stairs. I panicked. It was 2 in the afternoon and not her usual time to return. There was no way Bob could go outside the house and he and I ran to my room and I shoved him into my closet.”
Priyanka told her boyfriend to remain hidden in the closet till she could send her aunt off to the grocery store. But Kiran Masi was like a dog on the hunt and she could smell something fishy going on apparently –
“Kiran masi entered the house and started looking into each room carefully. I was sitting on my bed, with my biology book, pretending I was studying. She came to my doorway and said “Open it” and I asked her “open what.” “Open your closet,” said my aunt. I was shaken as I have never seen my aunt this angry. I opened the closet door, it was a big mess: a boy came out,” wrote Priyanka.
Her aunt had then rung up Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra to complain – “I can’t believe that she lied to my face. There was a boy in her closet!”
OOPS! Isn’t that a young couple’s worst nightmare? But ‘All’s well that ends well’, and now the Barfi actress has found her equally sweet life-partner Nick Jonas, and they ain’t gotta hide nothing!
