South Superstar Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Adipurush’ officially went on floors yesterday.
However, unfortunately, looks like things went awry on the first day itself!
A ‘level 2 fire’ broke out on the Adipurush sets at Retro Grounds behind Inorbit Mall in Goregaon area in Mumbai. Around fifty to sixty people were present at the film set.
According to an Indian Express report, the team had been shooting against massive chroma and green screen set up. Thankfully, Saif Ali Khan and Prabhas were NOT on sets when it caught fire! Nor was anybody harmed.
A source told the portal, “The film’s director Om Raut and Marathi actor Surya were present on the set and the shooting was happening against a chroma screen. Some VFX scenes were being shot too. The fire happened due to short circuit and the entire chroma set up went into ashes. No one on the set was injured. The cast and crew present on set today are safe.”
Directed by Om Raut, this mythological period drama based on ‘Ramayana’ is scheduled for an August 11 2022 release. Kriti Sanon is said to play the part of Sita, Sunny Singh as Laxman, Hema Malini as Kaushalya and Angad Bedi as Meghnad.
