Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter controversies seem to pile up by the day.
Her latest Twitter fiasco wherein she misidentified an elderly Sikh woman from the farmers’ protest as Bilkis Bano of Shaheen Bagh received massive backlash.
Ranaut had also insinuated that the woman had joined the protest for a meagre price of Rs 100. Though she deleted the degrading tweet after being called out on spreading false news, the damage was done.
Many celebs like Prince Narula, Sargun Mehta, Himanshi Khurana have slammed Kangana for her remark and the latest addition is singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, who’s been showing his full support to the farmer’s protest from the start.
Sharing a proof video of the farmer’s protestor granny who’s been actually identified as Mahinder Kaur, Diljit slammed Kangana as someone who ‘says anything’. Venting his anger, he told her to do whatever politics she wanted but to learn some manners before speaking against their mothers.
Diljit wrote in Punjabi, “Respected SARDARNI MAHINDER KAUR JI. Ah Sunn La Ni @kanganaranaut With Proof. Jo Politics karni an Karo.. Par Saadian Maavan Nu kush v Kehan Ton Phelan Tameez Sikho. Banda Ena V Ni Anna Hona Chaida.. Kush v Boli Turi Jandi aa..#farmerprotest.”
(Listen to this proof, @KanganaTeam. Do whatever politics you want but before saying anything against our mothers, learn some manners. One should not be this blind. She keeps saying anything)
In the video interview by BBC, Granny Mahinder Kaur and her other friends at the protest said that Kangana should come and work in the fields for a day to know what farmers have to do. “We will give her Rs 100 in the evening,” said a woman in the video.
Kangana has also been sent a legal notice by Punjab-based lawyer Hakam Singh, demanding an apology for misidentifying Mahinder Kaur as ‘Bilkis Dadi’ in her tweet.
‘Bilkis Dadi’ was a prominent protester at the Shaheen Bagh anti-CAA demonstrations in Delhi last year.
Ranaut has been given 7 days to issue an apology failing which a defamation case will be pursued.
“It is to inform you that the said lady is not a fake lady. Her name is Mahinder Kaur and she belongs to Bathinda. She is the wife of farmer Labh Singh Nambardar. She in her life, has always remained connected with fields and filed work and she is the wife of a farmer,” the notice said.
