Seems like 2020 has been the worst year for the people from the entertainment industry.
Now the veteran actor Shivkumar Verma is fighting for his life as the actor has been put on ventilator support.
Reportedly, the actor who has featured in films like ‘Halla Bol’, ‘Baazi Zindagi Ki’, and also in some popular TV shows, is suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a group of progressive lung disease.
The actor is unable to pay the hospital expenses and has also been suspected to have contracted coronavirus. The Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) has confirmed the news on Twitter and asked for financial help from industry stalwarts.
The tweet reads, “AN URGENT CALL FOR HELP! #CINTAA Member Shivkumar Verma is suffering from COPD and is also suspected of COVID-19. He is in need of urgent funds for hospital expenses. We humbly urge you to please help by donating whatever you can @amitbehl @akshaykumar @TeamAkshay @iamvidyabalan.”
Sharing the bank details of Shivkumar, CINTAA posted the same message thrice in the past 12 hours, tagging Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Sunny Deol, and Manoj Joshi, among a few others in their tweets.
Amit Behl of CINTAA told Hindustan Times that they got the news only on Wednesday and immediately transferred Rs 50,000 for his help, following the rules of CINTAA.
He further stated, “The reports (for coronavirus) may take time but we are preparing for the worse. As soon as we could manage to get details of his bank account, we posted the social media message seeking help.” Amit also said that the actor is suffering from multiple issues.
Meanwhile, Amit has also revealed that Shivkumar is an active member of this association and his daughter approached them for help.
