On his 30th birthday, Bollywood’s new Chocolate Boy Kartik Aryan dropped a DHAMAKA, quite literally.
His upcoming next with Neerja Director Ram Madhvani is titled ‘Dhamaka’; and it’s a remake of the South-Korean film ‘The Terror Live’.
Kartik’s determined to not be typecasted and he hopes this new, serious avatar will work its magic. So far, his sombre look from ‘Dhamaka’ poster has been received quite well by the fans.
Kartik will be essaying the role of an investigative journalist in the movie. The plot reportedly revolves around a former television news anchor who unwittingly takes a call from a terrorist on his live radio show. When the terrorist’s threat proves to be real, the host decides to use this incident to get back in the spotlight.
Now, as per Koimoi report, Yami Gautam has been roped in as the female lead for Dhamaka. She’ll be playing the role of Kartik’s girlfriend.
“Yami plays Kartik’s girlfriend in Dhamaka. Both the actors have started their prep for the film and are looking forward to shooting with each other,” informed a source close to the development.
“The plan is to start filming around mid-December. The makers have booked a five-star hotel in Juhu where major parts of the film will be shot. Small outdoor portions will be done in Mumbai in January,” added another source.
This is the 1st time that Yami-Kartik will share screen space. What do you guys think of this pairing?
Apart from Ram Madhvani’s film, Kartik also has ‘Bhool Bhulaiya 2’, ‘Dostana 2’, and Om Raut’s untitled action movie in the pipeline. On the other hand, Yami Gautam was last seen in Netflix’s ‘Ginny Weds Sunny’. Playing a school teacher in her upcoming next, she will be seen as a grey character in Ronnie Screwvala’s psychological thriller, ‘A Thursday’.
She will also be seen in Bhoot Police, co-starring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, and Jacqueline Fernandez. Yami has the Abhishek Bachchan starrer ‘Dasvi’ in the pipeline as well.
