It seems like adapting novels for creating movies and series have become trendy nowadays.
Tigmanshu Dhulia is all set to bring Vikram Swarup’s much-acclaimed novel ‘Six Suspects’ to the OTT platform.
As per a Peeping Moon report, the adaptation work of the murder mystery for ‘Disney+ Hotstar’, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, has started and is currently in the casting stage.
The show is being produced by Priti Sinha and Namrata Sinha under ‘Reel Life Entertainment’ and will go on floors next year.
A murder mystery set in Delhi; the book revolves around the son of the Home Minister of Uttar Pradesh who is murdered by a guest at his own party. When the police officers arrive to investigate, they find six strange characters in the possession of a gun, all with a motive to kill him.
The book then goes around to talk about each of these suspects, including a corrupt bureaucrat, an American tourist, a tribesman, and a Bollywood heroine.
This book is supposedly inspired by true events.
This isn’t the first time that Vikas’s novel is being adapted into another platform. His bestselling debut novel ‘Q&A’ was also adapted and made into an International movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ by Danny Boyle in 2008.
This movie won eight Academy Awards.
Meanwhile, the ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ director is currently working on another web-series for Sony LIV.
