Another couple is jumping on the wedding bandwagon; Aditya Narayan is getting hitched to long-time girlfriend and Shaapit co-star Shweta Agarwal.
From his proposal stunt to honeymoon destination, singer/Indian Idol host Aditya Narayan has gotten candid about his wedding plans with TOI.
How He Proposed To Shweta
Though he wanted to pop the question to Shweta in Maldives, an unexpected change of plans led the couple on a retreat to Lonavala, where the proposal finally took place.
He said, “Maldives was my first choice. I had planned to propose to her at the exotic beach destination in March 2020 and I had kept the ring ready since December 2019. Our flights were booked in March, but eight hours before our departure, we got the news that Maldives was under lockdown.
So, I could not officially get engaged then. When we went to Lonavala, I surprised her by popping the question and slipping the ring on her finger.”
A 3-Day Wedding
The pre-wedding festivities have already commenced, with Aditya and Shweta’s Roka Ceremony wrapped up!
The other functions will be spread over a period of 3 days – the Mehendi ceremony will take place on November 29, which will be followed by a temple wedding on December 1.
The lovebirds are planning on keeping the actual wedding simple and an intimate affair with just close family and friends, but they will be hosting a grand wedding reception on December 2 at a plush Mumbai hotel.
Apparently, the sangeet function will also happen on the day of the reception. Aditya has also revealed that Shweta will be designing their wedding outfits!
He elaborated, “Our wedding outfits are designed by Shweta because along with being an actress, she is also a fashion designer. For many years now, she has been designing my outfits.”
Band Baaja Baarat – The LIT Playlist!
Ab singer ki shaadi hai….the playlist at the function should match the hype, right? Aditya has the playlist locked down as well.
He told TOI, “Shweta and I will dance to my father’s song ‘Pehla Nasha’ from ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’ because, for me, it was love at first sight when I met her. I recently bought a new apartment, and I am excited that Shweta and I will start our new life in the new house.”
Honeymoon Plans?
When asked about their honeymoon destination, Aditya commented that they’re planning to go to Gulmarg, Kashmir.
Aditya said, “Shweta loves skiing and I felt it would be ideal to go to Gulmarg in the winters. If everything goes well, we plan to go there.”
