The release date of the much-awaited Akshay Kumar Starrer Laxmmi Bomb is finally here! Even the pandemic won’t take the Dhamaka out of the Diwali!
The horror-comedy is all set for a Diwali release. The actor unveiled the teaser with – “Iss Diwali aapke gharon mein “laxmmi” ke saath ek dhamakedar “bomb” bhi aayega.”
The teaser starts with a caption: ‘When the outcast becomes outraged’ as Akshay is seen as a moustached man transforming into a transgender. A voice echoes in the background, “Aaj se tera naam Laxman nahi, Laxmmi Hoga (Now your name will not be Laxman, you will be known as Laxmmi).”
The film will release on November 9 on Disney Plus Hotstar. A remake of the 2011 Tamil hit Muni 2: Kanchana, it will feature Akshay playing a transperson. It also stars Kiara Advani, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharad Kelkar, Tarun Arora and Ashwini Kalsekar.
Raghava Lawrence, who had helmed the original, will be making his Hindi directorial debut with this one.
Talking about his role, Akshay had said – “In my career of 30 years, this is my most mentally intense role. It has been that tough. I’ve never experienced something like this before. The credit goes to my director, Lawrence sir. He introduced me to a version of myself which I didn’t know existed.”
