You say glamourous, we hear Priyanka Chopra! PC has had one heck of a journey and we have all been witness to this star’s path to worldwide recognition.
On the special event of her 38th birthday, we have compiled PC’s style’s evolutionary looks that will always be too cool for us to handle. Buckle up for this 20-year journey from the Miss World 2000 pageantry to Bollywood and finally, to Hollywood as well.
1. Miss World 2000
Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World title in 2000 and she was all smiles at her coronation. Then again, who wouldn’t be? Clad in a traditional ghagra, the then newly crowned Miss World can be seen sporting the crown like a true queen.
This lady is the real deal. At the age of 18, the young former Miss World wore a glittering gown with sparkling jewellery that was set over her shapely neck as she was being crowned her new title.
2. Leap into Bollywood
Priyanka made her Bollywood debut in the film ‘The Hero: Love Story of a Spy‘ and she sure made a statement with her on-screen wedding ensemble. Clearly, this actress knows how to rock all looks effortlessly.
Towards the beginning of her career, Priyanka’s signature look was the nude makeup with kohl-lined eyes that had everyone in a trance.
3. Filmfare stunner
From receiving her first award to being on the cover page, Priyanka came a long way. She received her first Filmfare for the best female debut.
In the above frame, Priyanka is seen looking stunning in a royal blue gown with a black net puff towards the end of the dress. The actress followed her signature nude makeup style here too with her hair pinned up in a messy bun.
Over here, Priyanka chose a beautiful veiled rose coloured cascading gown that highlights her lightly done pink make up. The actress also had a ‘hair bangs’ phase that we absolutely loved!
This brings us to Priyanka’s 2018 Filmfare cover shoot where the actress stuns in deep blues. While she swapped her nude make up look for a much more bold and dark one, Chopra’s hair is as beautiful as ever streaming in beach waves down her back.
4. Don? More like Damn!
The movie Don broke out a whole new on-screen personality of the actress where she played a strong and powerful role. Good cop Roma falling in love with Don? Yes, please! Priyanka sported side bangs throughout this phase and a gun too! Of course, she never really carried a gun in real life but her badass role was enough to make us want more of this star.
5. Super heroine?
The Krrish franchise got Priyanka looking like the bombshell of our dreams. With her long smooth hair and cute outfits, she was an inspirational successful woman, in the movie and in real life.
6. Fashion Ka Hai Ye Jhalwa
The 2008 steamy romance film Fashion got us looking at PC in a different light! She blew our minds in each and every look. From metallic hair accessories and Princess Jasmine hairdos to smokey black eyes, she rocked it all. This movie made her a fashion icon and Chopra always found a way to stun her audience.
7. Sporty but oh! so pretty…
The sensational biopic Mary Com proves that ‘ye ladki kuch bhi kar sakti hai’. Afterall, how does one look this good even when she’s running miles or boxing?
8. The ‘Quantico’ revolution
Now that we’re at Quantico, this series marked the beginning of PC’s Hollywood career. Each season of Quantico had Priyank looking better than ever with newer hairdos and killer fighting skills. Her avatar Alex Parrish makes being a cop look effortlessly cool. Oh! we almost forgot… and effortlessly beautiful!
9. Met Gala
Now, this is what you call a real evolution! The Diva made her Met Gala debut solo, in the year 2017 with a dramatic ensemble. However, 2019 saw Priyanka Chopra walk on the Gala carpet with the love of her life, Nick Jonas.
Starting off with statement earrings, we think Priyanka can make any outfit look fabulous. Her earrings being the only pair of jewellery, the actress wore a warm tanned colour button-up gown that had a trail so long, she ticked the modern princess box!
Going for a much bolder fairytale look, Chopra was a sight for sore eyes with her frosty-feather themed high slit dress. Choosing a bold plum makeup look, this babe reminded us of the ice queen… except with a touch of warm pink tones.
10. The Royal Wedding
The 2018 Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had the entire world jumping in joy. However, mind you, all eyes weren’t just on them. For the royal reception, Priyanka wore a gorgeous Dior garment that made her a princess in her own right! With short waves atop a beautiful lightly painted face, she was a sight we couldn’t get our eyes off.
During the wedding, the actress rocked a lavender Vivienne Westwood with an English styles hat which made her look nothing less than a royal herself.
11. Cannes Film Festival
During the Cannes Film Festival, PC showcased multiple outfits but we think these are our favourites! Her Cannes debut for the film ‘Rocketman‘ got the diva wearing a beautiful black and red sparkly gown that turned heads everywhere.
As for our second favourite, Priyanka rolled in with the ‘just-out-of-a-fairytale’ look and we absolutely loved it. With Nick on one arm and her gown in the other, the actress looks like she had it all covered.
12. Bridal Beauty
This brings us to the final stage of Priyanka Chopra’s style evolution, her Wedding Day(s). Priyanka had her dream wedding with both cultures, Indian and Western. For her Ralph Lauren wedding gown during her Western wedding, she opted for a 75-feet tulle veil that cascaded down the stairs as she walked towards her husband, Nick Jonas.
For her Indian wedding, Priyanka chose a Sabyasachi traditional all red embroided gown that made her stand out on her special day.
Did you think that was it? No, the actress also had us shook with her Sangeet and Mehandi pictures where she wore an absolutely stunning colour-popping blouse and skirt while her dark mane was adorned with flowers.
