In recent events, Kangana took to Twitter and threatened a journalist who pointed out a factual error in the actress’ tweet where she claimed that she was being forced to vote for Shiv Sena.
Journalist Kamlesh Sutar reacted back to Kangana’s threat asking her to not intimidate a journalist.
Kamlesh Sutar replied to Kangana’s Times Now interview saying he noticed an error with her complaint. “I see some factual error here. @KanganaTeam says she was forced to vote for Shivsena. As per @CEO_Maharashtra data, @KanganaTeam is a voter of Bandra west seat. Ashish Shelar of BJP was Sena-BJP candidate here in 2019. In Loksabha again Poonam Mahajan of the BJP fought and won.”
To this, the actress tweeted saying, “You are wrong don’t spread misinformation I will send you a legal notice you will have to prove this in court, this trolling will cost you a lot you will end up in jail for your naughty lies.”
Kangana went on to delete her tweet later but until the time her tweet was on Twitter, it caught the attention of the Mumbai Press Club who condemned her threat and asked celebrities and politicians to not threaten journalists.
“The Mumbai Press Club takes serious cognisance and condemns the threat by @kanganateam against journalist/Club member @kamleshsutar. Celebrities, Politicians & their workers, pls do not intimidate journalists. @MumbaiPressClub strongly backs the fraternity.”
Journalist Kamlesh Sutar also replied to Kangana’s now deleted tweet saying he wasn’t a troll but a journalist hence she should refrain from threatening him. “I’m a Journalist, not a troll. So pls do not try to intimidate a Journalist with ‘this will cost you a lot’ type threat! Good Night!”
