Storyline:
Abhimanyu plays Adi… a whiny useless loafer who’s sailing through life on the gift of his photographic memory. He has a bone to pick with his Boss Bitch Bhabhi Avni (Shilpa Shetty).
He claims she’s the bane of his existence because the moment she enters the picture… he’s kicked out of his brother’s life. The sulky Adi gets even more pissed when he has to accompany Bhabhi Dearest to her new posting as an RTO officer.
While Adi bitches about being the maid in the house (reluctantly doing all the chores as Avni focuses on her career) Natasha (Shirley) appears out of nowhere and proposes him for marriage. Na hi na hello, direct mandap tak chalo? My, my…
It turns out Natasha is Avni Bhabhi’s cousin, she fell in love with Adi at first sight, and she’s also going to live under the same roof with them. This all kinda sounds like a corny porno set-up tbh.
Meanwhile, Avni is battling the murderous, corrupt MLA Vikramjeet (Abhimanyu Singh) and his illegal cab service Super. Vikramjeet enters into a heated face-off with Adi when he tries to save his Bhabhi and takes panga with the baddie politician.

What Do We Think:
For the unversed, Nikamma is a remake of Nani’s Telugu film Middle-Class Abbayi. I haven’t seen the original movie but the Hindi version is absolutely meh and is Nikamma just like its title.
This action-comedy also marks the big-screen debut of singer Shirley Setia (who admittedly looks very cute) but apart from being the token doll-face doesn’t have shit to do in the movie. She has no conviction in her awkward dialogue delivery and her chemistry with Abhimanyu is lacklustre.
Abhimanyu waters down his action potential in this over-the-top masala mode. Hope he returns to better scripts that allow him to shine because the dude can usually act. Shilpa Shetty holds it steady and stern in the 1st half but she too gives way to the cringey melodrama in the 2nd half.
Abhimanyu Singh could have been a convincing villain if the character wasn’t so cartoonishly evil.
Also hey, Kota Factory fame Mayur More stars as Abhimanyu’s sidekick (wasted in the role though). The title track is the only good thing about this movie.
Hit Or Miss:
This one is a miss for us. Yaar isse accha, Major dekh lo theatres mai….action, romance, thrill sab hai. Or 777 Charlie. Now, that’s a cute doggo movie.
