Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh have landed in legal trouble.
Now, we hear that a case has been registered against them for promoting tobacco-based products or gutka.
As per a report, a Muzaffarpur-based activist Tamanna Hashmi has filed a case against SRK, Ajay, Ranveer and Big B under sections 467, 468, 439 and 120B for “misusing their popularity for promoting gutka only in greed of money” allegedly.
The report further added that the matter will now be heard in the court on May 27, 2022.
The B-Town A-listers have been receiving flak lately for featuring in ads that promote pan masala, tobacco-based products or gutka.
In October 2021, Amitabh Bachchan terminated his contract with a chewing tobacco brand, Kamla Pasand. His team released a statement stating that Big B wasn’t aware of a few details. Last month, Akshay, who appeared on tobacco brand Vimal’s ad (the ad also featured SRK, Ajay), cut his ties from the company after his fans slammed him for promoting tobacco.
